Join us for a 5-day Integrative Therapeutic Sound Healer Training led by Joseph Schmidlin. This program is open to healthcare professionals, bodyworkers, sound and music therapists, yoga students, and teachers. Explore the science of sound healing, self-healing capacities, and instrument skills with a comprehensive curriculum.
What the Training Will Explore:

The Science:
- Understanding the body-mind as a potential instrument of health and wellness.
- Topics include embryology, anatomy, physiology, the integrative nervous system, psychology of sound, and harmonic sciences.

- Deep listening, embodied voice, embodied movement, and bodywork.

Instrument Skills:
- Musicality as an extension of the body-mind.
- Working with tuned instruments (tuning forks, swinging chimes, brass plates, wind, strings), microtonal instruments (singing bowls, shruti box, gong, bells), and untuned instruments (shakers, rattles, etc.).

Joseph is a highly experienced osteopath, therapeutic practitioner, teacher and mentor whose remarkable journey unfolds from the fast-paced world of NASCAR to the tranquil realm of sound therapy. Inspired by his father’s mechanical dexterity and his own deep affinity for energetic movement, Joseph merges his understanding of anatomy, physiology and body mechanics with his dedication to the human potential movement. This commitment led him to shift from an engineering career to the healing arts.
Joseph’s athletic background inspired him to delve into yoga and ancient healing modalities, leading him to train in Osteopathic medicine, advanced cranial sacral and many other bodymind therapies. He built a thriving practice under the mentorship of notable luminaries such as Dr. John Upledger, Dr. Fritz Smith, Dr. Jean-Pierre Barral, Sonam Targee and many more. He further honed his skills in Eastern medicine and advanced energy work techniques in his clinical practice.
However, his groundbreaking approach emerged through his training in the sound healing arts, which blended perfectly with his whole body deep listening approach developed in his Osteopathic practice which emphasized listening to the body with his hands on skills. Today, Joseph’s main offering is in the education of others on how to integrate these therapeutic modalities and to listen to the body and mind as an integral whole.
Joseph is a respected clinician, educator, and guest faculty member at Svaram in India, where he advances therapeutic models. Globally, Joseph shares generously at his workshops, empowering students through a blend of science and experiential learning, earning high praise for his gift for unlocking their capability. He is also the founder of Onetone Sonic Alchemy and H.A.R.P in Rochester, NY, initiatives merging art and science in sound therapy. Driven by an unyielding thirst for knowledge and a deep devotion to aiding others on their healing journeys, Joseph’s pioneering work in energy medicine and human potential continues to flourish.
